Kazakhstan’s men’s epee fencing team 4th in FIE world ranking

Kazakhstan climbed to fourth spot in the FIE men’s team epee fencing world ranking, after the country’s successful performance at the Berne World Cup 2024, Kazinform News Agency cites the National Olympic Committee.

Kazakhstan climbed from sixth to fourth spot in the FIE men’s team epee fencing world ranking.

Earlier, the Kazakh men’s epée fencing team secured the 7th spot at the Berne World Cup 2024 in Switzerland.

Previously, it was reported that the National Fencing Federation of Kazakhstan announced changes to its coaching staff.

We achieved success to make our team a strong contender for the world’s top teams from France, Italy, Hungary, Japan and other countries. But we do not want to stop there and plan to take the next step – our goal is to secure a team quota and return from Los Angeles with a medal. To achieve that, we enhanced our coaching staff, with Oleksandr Gorbachuk, who is among the world’s best, named the new coach of our men’s epee team. In the past 15 years, the representative of Ukraine’s school of fencing trained Japanese athletes, with some of them becoming two-time Olympic winners, said President of the National Fencing Federation of Kazakhstan Mirbulat Abuov.
