Kazakhstan’s Putintseva secures first win at Adelaide International in Australia

World No. 111 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan got off to a good start at the Adelaide International in Australia, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from Olympic.kz.

Putintseva’s first opponent was world No. 19 Donna Vekic of Croatia.

The Kazakhstani tennis player defeated the Croatian athlete with a score of 6:2, 6:3 in two sets.

In the second round Putintseva will face the winner of Danielle Collins (USA) and Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) clash.

It was earlier reported that Kazakhstan had failed to advance to the finals of the United Cup in Perth, Australia.
