Kazakhstan's Putintseva sets record after victory in Adelaide International quarterfinals in Australia
World No. 25 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan set a personal record after defeating world No. 40 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia at the Adelaide International quarterfinals in Australia, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.
Defeating Jaber with a score of 6:2, 6:4 in the quarterfinals, the Kazakhstani tennis player skyrocketed to the 24th spot in the WTA rankings, earning the best result in her career.
Putintseva is to play against Russian tennis player Diana Shnaider (ranked 13th) and in the case of victory has a chance to climb two positions up in the WTA Singles Rankings.
As earlier reported, Kazakhstan's tennis players have failed to propel to the main draw of the Australian Open 2025.
