Kazakhstan's Shymkent adds new flights to Europe and Asia
14 internal and 16 international routes will be launched in Shymkent, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The new terminal at the Shymkent airport will handle flights to the EU, China, South Korea, Southeast Asia, the UAE, Belarus and other popular destinations. Most domestic and international flights will be transferred soon to the new terminal, a representative of SCAT air company Viktoria Starozhilova said.
The international arrivals and transit sectors will open as soon as customs and border control equipment is installed.
The number of flight destinations from Shymkent will rise to 45. It will soon expand its routes to Ust Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Kyzylorda, Uralsk, Zhezkazgan, Koksjetau, Kostanay as well as to Namangan and Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Bishkek and Osh (Kyrgyzstan), New Delhi (India), Karachi (Pakistan), Barcelona (Spain), Prague (Czechia), Paris (France) and others.
The old terminal will also serve domestic and international flights. It handles some 15 flights per day, including six internal and nine international.
Kazakhstan's Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Atyrau, Semey, Aktobe as well as Istanbul, Moscow, Antalya, Dubai, medina, Jidda, Phuket and Kutaisi remain the most popular destinations.
It was earlier reported, the Shymkent Airport will build the 2nd runway.
