Kazakhstan’s tourism sector revenue hit some KZT 100 bln
The country's places of accommodation earned almost 100 billion tenge in the first six months of 2023, Kazakh Tourism and Sport Minister Yermek Marzhikpayev told the Government meeting, Kazinform Agency reports.
The growth of tourism led to the growth of tourism sector revenues. Places of accommodation earned almost 100 billion tenge in the first half of 2023 which is 30 billion tenge more as compared to the last year.
He said the Saty auyl in Almaty region won the UNWTO Best Tourism Village Award in recognition of the country’s agro-rural tourism development achievements.
In the first six months, over 3 million Kazakhstanis travelled throughout Kazakhstan that is 400,000 more than in the same period of the previous year. The number of international tourists also doubled.
