KazEOSat - Kazakhstan Earth Observation Satellite delivered to Kourou - Kazkosmos
Kazakhstan's first remote sensing satellite - KazEOSat (Kazakhstan Earth Observation Satellite) is a satellite of high spatial resolution of 1 meter, weighing 900 kg.
KazEOSat-1 is designed to provide a full range of remote sensing services from sun synchronous orbit, including monitoring of natural and agricultural resources, mapping data to support rescue operations in case of disaster.
EADS Astrium and Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary signed the two agreements during the State visit of the French President, Mr. Sarkozy, to Mr. Nazarbaev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in October 2009.
The RS which has already been delivered to Kourou, will be put into the orbit by the European launcher "Vega".
Launch of KazEOSat- 1 from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou is scheduled for April 25.
