Kazinform news agency marks its 94th anniversary
Our history: The first Kazakh news agency referred to as the Orenburg-Turgai department of the Russian Telegraph Agency (ROSTA) was founded on August 13, 1920. Back to 1925 it was renamed as KazROST. In 1937 the news agency was transferred to the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. Since that moment and 60 years beyond the agency was referred to as KazTAG and renamed as KazAAG in 1997. National Company Kazinform JSC was founded in 2002 on the ground of KazAAG agency. During the period of 2008-2013 Kazinform joined Arna Media National Information Holding and Kazakhstan TV and Radio Corporation. Arkady Vyatichi Kyrilov,Kasym Sharipov, Kakimzhan Kazybayev, Zhumagali Ismagulov, Amangeldy Akhmetalimov, Murat Arenov, Gadilbek Shalakhmetov Zhanai Omarov at different times headed our news agency. This January Kazinform was the first Kazakhstan-based news agencies to gain the status of the international news agency that ushered in a new era of its further development. Today's Kazinform is one of the most reliable and efficient sources providing information on politics, economy, education, health, sports, culture and other key aspects of the society. It covers news concerning the Presidential Administration, Parliament, and Government, regional authorities, national financial and industrial structures broadcasting in Kazakh, and Russian, English and Chinese languages. It also provides news in Latin and Arabic for our compatriots living abroad. The agency plans to launch Spanish version of the portal soon. The news agency is headquartered in Astana. It also has its news office in Almaty, the financial and cultural center of the country. Its 15 correspondent offices the countrywide, including Baikonur, and foreign representations in Russia, China, Turkey, UAE, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan let the agency deliver on-line impartial and coherent picture of events occurring in the country and around the world. In future, the agency plans to open news bureaus in the United States, Spain, South Korea, Germany, Israel, Brazil and India. Currently Kazinform ranks among top 10 Kazakhstan's online news agencies. 84 Kazakhstan's political and public figures, reps of business and expert circles, above 60 foreign diplomats, experts and politicians, presidents of China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Lithuania, CIS and non-CIS countries gave interviews to our agency. Kazinform is a member of the International Association of News Agencies OANA (Organization of News Agencies in Asia and the Pacific), the Association of National News Agencies of CIS countries, the news agencies of Turkic-Speaking Countries, the International Organization for the joint development of culture and art (TURKSOY). World Association of Russian press (WARP). Among Kazinform partners are ITAR-TASS, KHABAR, BelTA, UkrInform, NOVOSTY - MOLDOVA, MOLDPRES, Armenpress, AzәrTAc, Yonhap, EFE, BTA, etc. Kazinform seeks to use innovation approaches in an effort to create high-quality content, improve its technologic base and appreciates its team of professionals.
