KazISS presents regional data collection network
On November 6, Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies made a presentation of a regional network called to enhance the regions’ analytical potential, Kazinform News Agency reports.
For the first time in its history, the KazISS opened eight representative offices in the regions of Kazakhstan, namely in the North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Mangistau, Akmola, Abai regions and in Almaty. A regional affairs department was also established this year at the Institute.
Deputies of the Senate and Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament, representatives of academic and expert communities participated in the event.
In his welcoming remarks, Director of the KazISS Yerkin Tukumov noted that the regional network is an important initiative whose goal is to enhance the regions’ analytical potential.
"The establishment of the regional network will let improve interregional coordination, gather prompt and reliable data firsthand, through the specially appointed representatives, to monitor the dynamics of the country’s socio-economic development in the regional breakdown, and, as a result, to improve the quality of analytical and sociological products compiled by the KazISS," he said.
