KBTU team enters top 50 young specialists of IT-sphere

ASTANA. July 9. KAZINFORM - Students of the Faculty of Information Technology at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) participated in the 37th World Championships in programming ACM ICPC 2013, held on June 30 to July 4 in St. Petersburg, the press service of the university informs.

The competition has brought together 120 teams from 36 countries.

The Kazakhstani team were 3rd year students - Almahan Azizhan, Madiyar Aitbaev, Kanat Satylhanov, who have been trained by Damir Eliusizov and led by the faculty dean Timur Umarov.

The official sponsor of the championship is IBM, the organizer - St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics.

Each team was presented with three participants and a trainer. During the 5-hour tour the team is offered 11 tasks to be fulfilled. All the assignments were complex and designed for knowledge of algorithms and data structures of mathematics.

"The team of KBTU occupied 48th place in the official table of results on a par with Hong Kongskim University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, Beijing University, and the University of Waterloo," the university press release reads.
