KHL: HC Barys take lead in playoff series against Avtomobilist

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - HC Barys Astana have taken a 2-0 lead in the first round of the KHL playoff series, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.

They won the second match against HC Avtomobilist 5:4 in Astana. Mikhail Rakhmanov of Barys was the first to score the opener in the 6th minute of the match. Avtomobilist tied the game 6 minutes later. The second stanza proved to be more heated as Roman Starchenko scored twice. The visitors also responded with two goals. In the third period Brandon Bochenski's first playoff shot found its way into the Avtomobilist's net. Avtomobilist scored the equalizer. It was Mike Lundin who sealed the 5-4 win for Barys in overtime in the 78th minute of the game. After two games in Astana, the teams will move to Yekaterinburg, where they are expected to resume the playoff series on March 11.
