KHL: Markov strikes as Vityaz downs Barys

Vityaz earned only its second win in its last eight games and is 12th in the Western Conference, while Barys failed to consolidate its position in the Eastern playoff places, staying eighth.
Four goals in the first eight minutes started the match with a bang, and Markov's goal leveled the score at 1-1 after his former Canadians teammate Dustin Boyd had put Barys ahead. Alexander Korolyuk put Vityaz 2-1 up before an equalizer from Maxim Spirinodov on 7:37.
Vityaz's next two goals decided the match, Artemy Panarin scoring late in the first period and Yakov Seleznyov early in the second to put their team 4-2 ahead, R-Sport informs.
Brandon Bochenski made it a one-goal game with his strike for Barys, before Evgeny Timkin scored again for Vityaz.
Barys outshot the visitors 32-21, and leaky goaltending from Teemu Lassila saw him taken off after just 3:25 in a first period in which Vityaz scored three times from five shots.
Among the locked-out NHL players, Nik Antropov of the Winnipeg Jets finished with two assists for Barys.
