Kidney transplantation made in Shymkent jointly with S Korean doctors
SHYMKENT. March 5. KAZINFORM The first kidney transplantation in southern Kazakhstan was performed by Shymkent doctors in the municipal hospital jointly with South Korean specialists.
Head of Healthcare Department of the South Kazakhstan Region Zhumagali Ismailov says all patients are stable after the surgery. "Patients' relatives donated the vital organs," Mr. Ismailov added.
The South Kazakhstan doctors are believed to make kidney transplantations on their own by the end of this year. 21 residents of southern Kazakhstan are wait-listed by the Healthcare Ministry to get a new kidney.
