KMG Chairman visits Tengiz, meets TCO staff

Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas, Askhat Khassenov, has visited the Tengiz oilfield in Atyrau region, Kazinform News Agency learned from the company’s press service.

The head of the KMG surveyed the site of the TCO’s Future Growth Project and visited the Integrated Operations Control Center, IOCC.

Askhat Khassenov also met the company’s top officials in a rotational village to discuss the current issues of the oilfield development, the prospects for increasing the share of domestic professionals among the company’s personnel and development of local content in the procurement of goods and services.

Following the strategic tender of the TCO, the company entered into five long-term MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) contracts with the local companies worth $400 million.

The head of the KMG outlined priority tasks for the TCO at the current stage, such as implementation of the recommendations of the Central Commission for Exploration and Development of Mineral Reserves of Kazakhstan on the system of deposits development. Another priority is timely modification of the Tengizchevroil fuel gas system to comply with the implementation schedule of the Gas Separation Complex (GSK) project

Particular attention was given to the TCO’s maintenance tender and the importance of attraction of Kazakhstani companies to the works planned.

The sides also touched upon the issues of training local personnel for the appointment to the senior positions.

Askhat Khassenov also met the staff of TCO. He thanked the employees of the company for their dedication and faithfulness.

TCO is a major taxpayer of Kazakhstan which ensures almost third of oil production the country. In the past 30 years, the company has produced 580 million tons of oil. The amount of taxes and mandatory payments made 129 billion US dollars.
