Knowledge of three languages is our future - President Nazarbayev

ASTANA. March 1. KAZINFORM Kazakhstani people should know at least three languages - the state, Russian and English.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev told during the meeting with journalists at Akorda on Monday.

The Head of State outlined that the state language development is a priority task. The number of Kazakhstanis speaking the state language should make at least 95 percent. 1,178 Kazakh kindergartens and centers are functioning in Kazakhstan at present. The number of Kazakh schools increased to 3,821. The State Program for Languages Development for 2011-2020 was adopted.

"I think that the mass media role in development of languages is very important. For example, children's TV channel Balapan broadcasts only in the Kazakh language," the President said.
