Kostanay region attracts KZT500bn worth of investments in a year

Kostanay region has attracted almost 1 billion tenge worth of foreign investments in the past two years, leading to creation of over 1,000 jobs, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Addressing a briefing at the Central Communication Service, governor Kumar Akssakalov said, private investments accounted for 383 billion tenge. A number of major industrial projects were commissioned thanks to the investments attracted, he added.

So, the KIA vehicle plant worth 90 billion tenge in investment and with a capacity of 70,000 vehicles per year is set to be launched in 2025, creating 1,500 jobs, said the governor.

The industrial projects slated for opening also include a plant for production of cast iron foundry equipment and railway rolling stock springs.

Earlier it was reported that Kostanay region is to build a 1 GW wind farm in Rudny town.
