KTZ reports increase in grain transport
In eight months of this year, Kazakhstan transported over 5.2 million tons of grain, including four million tons for export, via the network of the Kazakh Temir Zholy, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In eight months of this year, Kazakh Temir Zholy moved over 5.2 million tons of grain, including 1.2 million tons within the country, a 4% rise compared with 2023. Four million tons of grain went for export.
The country logged a 17.4% increase in rail transportation of grain mill products, reaching 2.3 million tons, of which 1.8 million tons went for export, 20% more than in 2023.
The bulk of the country’s grain exports fell at Central Asian countries – 2.5 million tons. In eight months of this year, Kazakhstan exported 1.2 million tons of grain as well as around 500,000 tons of grain mill products to China, a 70% increase.
Kazakhstan has over 15.4 thousand covered wagons and nearly 15 thousand grain cars.
It’s worth noting that the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry, Food Corporation and Kazakh Temir Zholy take all necessary measures to make sure the 2024-25 grain campaign is well-planned.
