Kurchatov to host int'l conf of Mayors for Peace
The delegation consisting of Ypres Mayor Luc Dehaene, Mayor of Biograd Ivan Knez, Mayor Vestby, from the City of Frogn, Norway, reps of the Organization's secretariat will attend an international anti-nuclear conference in Kurchatov with the participation of director of the Nazarbayev Centre Kanat Saudabayev, UNDP Kazakhstan Resident Representative Stephen Tull, foreign ambassadors to Kazakhstan, mayors of European and Kazakhstani cities, reps of international organizations, media and nuclear physics and medicine scientists.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Mayor of Hiroshima Kadzumi Matsui are expected to send their video addresses.
Other important events are an opening of the representation of the Conference of Mayors for Peace in Semey, adoption of the joint action plan, signing of the memo on establishment of fraternal ties between Ypres and Semey.
