Kyrgyz, Kazakh ecology ministers discuss climate policy at COP29
Within the framework of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan Meder Mashiev held a meeting with his counterpart from Kazakhstan Erlan Nysanbayev, Kabar reports.
In the course of the meeting, the two ministers got acquainted with the work of the pavilion organized by Kyrgyzstan and discussed the prospects for further cooperation in the field of ecology, environmental protection and sustainable development of the region, the natural Resources Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Special attention was paid to climate change issues in Central Asia and joint efforts to overcome environmental challenges.
Meder Mashiev and Erlan Nysanbaev emphasized the importance of interaction and coordination of efforts of the countries of the region to improve the effectiveness of climate policy and adaptation to climate change.
