Kyrgyz Parliament’s Committee approves changing country’s flag

The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and the Rules of the Jogorku Kenesh today approved changing the country’s flag in the second and third readings, Kabar reports.

The authors of the flag, Bekbosun Zhaichybekov and Zhusup Mataev, also took part in the committee meeting.

The initiators of the bill are deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiev, Ulan Primov.

Chairman of the Committee Cholpon Sultanbekova presented information about the bill.

Thus, it is proposed to change the shape of the rays on the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic from wave-like to a shape clearly reminiscent of the rays of the sun.
