Kyrgyz President condoles with Kazakh counterpart over Karaganda mine tragedy

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov sent a telegram of condolences to his Kazakh counterpart President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the occasion of the tragedy in the Karaganda mine, Kazinform Agency cites Kabar

In the telegram President Zhaparov expressed condolences over loss of lives as a result of the deadly blast in the Kostenko mine in Karaganda region on behalf of the Kyrgyz people and his personal behalf.

He noted that the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan share the pain and grief of the families and relatives of those killed in the incident. He also wished the speedy recovery to those injured.

Recall that a powerful blast rocked the Kostenko mine in Karaganda region killing 33 miners. 18 people have been hospitalized with various injuries.

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and declared a national day of mourning on October 29. The President also ordered the Government to stop investment cooperation with ArcelorMittal Temirtau and nationalize the company.
