Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov lands in Astana
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrived in Kazakhstan for the SCO summit set to take place on July 3-4 in Astana. The Kyrgyz leader was greeted by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov at the airport in the Kazakh capital, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh government.


Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan seek robust allied bilateral relations, enshrined in the corresponding treaty on their deepening and expansion.
The countries’ mutual trade turnover rose 67.3% to 1,572 million US dollars in 2019/23.
It is expected that global cooperation issues regarding Central Asia, including in energy, security and so on, are to be discussed during the SCO summit.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev have already arrived in Astana for the SCO summit.
Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping, who is on his state visit to Kazakhstan, will also attend the 24th meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
