Kyrgyzstan and European Investment Bank sign MoU for EUR 150 mln

Kyrgyzstan and the European Investment Bank signed a memorandum of understanding totaling EUR 150 million to finance projects in the transport industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kabar reports.

The signing ceremony of the memorandum took place as part of the first Global Gateway investor forum on sustainable transport links between Central Asia and the European Union.

Thus, during the signing, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis noted active cooperation in the transport sector with the countries of Central Asia.

In turn, Torobaev spoke about the important role of Kyrgyzstan in the system of transport corridors connecting Europe and Asia and about the prospects for the strategic project for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev is currently on a working trip to Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
