According to Maripov, “even if the capital had a two-headed mayor, the problem of smog and traffic congestion would not be solved.”

“I suggest moving our capital city to a new location. This issue needs to be reviewed. A new city Asman is being built on Lake Issyk-Kul shores, with up to $10 billion of investments attracted. $550 million will be required to move the railways outside the capital, and more than $1 billion is needed to build a bypass ring road. Traffic jams will be eliminated, if the capital city is relocated and the Cabinet of Ministers is moved outside the city,” the deputy said addressing a meeting of the Zhogorku Kenesh.

Earlier it was reported that Kyrgyzstan had seen growth in tourist flow in 2024.
