Kyrgyzstan enhances support of women's entrepreneurship

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has signed the law “On amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On protection of the rights of entrepreneurs” passed by the Parliament on December 4, 2024,” a Kazinform correspondent reports.

The document aims at enhancing state support of female entrepreneurship, including expansion of access to finance and creation of conditions for increasing the level of women’s employment in Kyrgyzstan’s economy.

The new law introduces the definition of "women's entrepreneurship," which means entrepreneurial activities where the business entities are:

- a woman working as an individual entrepreneur;

- a legal entity carrying out commercial activities, registered in Kyrgyzstan, where women own at least 51% of the shares or equity and where women constitute at least 51% of the employees.

Earlier, it was reported that President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree completely abolishing tax on motor vehicles.
