Kyrgyzstan imposes temporary ban on farm animals export

The Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic suspends issuing permits for the export of farm animals, Kabar reports.

The press service of the ministry said that in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, from January 31, 2025, the Veterinary Service suspended issuing permits for the export of farm animals to third countries, including cattle, small cattle and horses.

Permits issued before January 31, 2025, are temporarily suspended until all inspections are completed and changes are made to the regulatory framework. The resumption of the permit issuance process will be announced additionally, the statement said.

As reported earlier, Kyrgyzstan exported agricultural products to 80 countries of the world in 2024.
