Kyrgyzstan makes claim for 2016-2018 membership in UN Human Rights Committee
MPs reviewed the draft joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations with Sudan, Congo, Somalia, Côte d'Ivoire, the Republic of Djibouti and the Kingdom of Bhutan, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. These agreements were signed under the rules established by the UN Charter and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, as well as Kyrgyzstan's claim for membership in the United Nations Human Rights Committee for 2016-2018, Kazinform has learnt from AKI Press. "Development of bilateral trade and economic and cultural relations with the African countries has long been harder due to geographical locations. But we hope that with the signing of these agreements, cooperation with these countries will come to a new level. In addition, many of these countries have expressed their readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's candidacy [to Nations Human Rights Committee membership]," said Minister Abdyldayev.
