Kyrgyzstan to import 3.2 bln kWh of electricity this year - Ministry of Energy
To provide domestic consumers of the republic with sufficient electricity, given the difficult situation of accumulation of water resources of the Toktogul reservoir, imports of electricity by 2023 will amount to 3.2 billion kWh, Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
Thus, agreements have been signed with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia.
Ibraev informed that in January-October this year, 10,671.3 million kWh of electricity was supplied to the networks of Kyrgyzstan, which is 871.1 million kWh or 8.3% more than in the same period of 2022 (9,800.2 million kWh).
Electricity losses in 0.4-35 kV PES networks for January-October 2023 amounted to 10.29% or 1,097.9 million kWh, which is less than the norm by 0.82%. Technical losses of electric power in 110-500 kV networks amounted to 698.34 mln kWh or 5.35%, the minister said.
