Kyzylorda region to build 4,000-ton capacity vegetable storehouse
A vegetable storehouse with a capacity to store 4,000 tons will be built in Kyzylorda region, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry.
There will be five cooling chambers each designed to store 800 tons. 1.2 billion tenge will be invested in its development.
11 investment projects will be launched in the region this year, including six crop output processing and rice production projects, two irrigation projects, etc. Seven projects were already commissioned. In particular, a poultry meat plant with a capacity of 45 tons, and a commercial dairy farm with a capacity of 1,000 tons were put into service.
Besides, two companies increased areas under corn using water-saving technologies up to 1,184 hectares.
Development of the projects is expected to strengthen the country’s food security and boost the export potential of domestic farm products.
