KZT 22 bln allocated for Almaty energy infrastructure in 2008 ? Mayor Yessimov

KAZINFORM. /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ About 14 thousand working places were created in Almaty in 2008 due to the implementation of the municipal employment program, 4.5 thousand people found job through the social employment service. Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov has made it public at a meeting with the residents today.

The city held many job fairs. 234 municipal enterprises filed applications for 10 thousand vacancies. ?Total amount of social support of the population in 2008 made up KZT 4 billion, that is 1.4 times more as against 2007?, the Mayor said. Then he touched upon the issues of power and water supply. He noted that about KZT 22 billion was allocated for the energy sphere development. Energy facilities, heat supply networks were reconstructed. ?In whole development of energy infrastructure allowed to decrease emergencies, and increase volumes of thermal and electric power production by 15%?, Mr. Yessimov added.
