KZT 8 bln tenge raised for Road to School charity campaign during 6 years
ASTANA. KAZINFORM During the 6 years of the charity campaign called "Road to School" more than 8 billion tenge has been raised for preparation of children from socially disadvantaged groups for school, Kazakh Vice Minister of Education and Science Yessengazy Imangaliyev said at a press conference on Monday.
"Material aid worth more than 8 billion tenge was received during the campaign "Road to School". During 6 years more than 2 million children received assistance," he said.
According to him, fundraising is conducted in educational institutions and in large supermarkets. More and more representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) actively join the campaign.
"Today SMEs provide aid worth 3.5 billion tenge," the Deputy Minister noted, the primeminister.kz reports.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, about 300 thousand Kazakhstani children are in need of financial assistance in the preparation for school. According to rough calculations, to fully prepare for the new school year it is needed from 26 to 65 thousand tenge.
