KZT17 billion spent on dairy farms construction in N Kazakhstan region

North Kazakhstan region plans to increase milk production by 70,000 tons, Kazinform News Agency quotes governor Gauez Nurmukhambetov as saying at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.

The governor hailed the region’s success in the construction of commercial dairy farms and said that this experience is disseminated countrywide in accordance with the President’s instruction.

“17 billion tenge were allocated last year from the national budget for the construction of the modern digital dairy farms. 11 out 19 dairy complexes have already been launched. All the new dairy farms are industrial ones, with livestock number varying from 400 to 1,500 heads. As soon as the farms reach their projected capacity, milk production will amount to 70,000 tons and 500 jobs will be created,” said Gauez Nurmukhambetov.

According to him, the region has built two poultry farms with a capacity of 6.5 thousand tons   per year.

Another poultry farm with a capacity of 10 thousand tons is under construction in Petropavlovsk.

Earlier, the governor said that in 10 months of 2024, agricultural output in the region reached 130.2% against the same period in 2023. Industrial output reached 101%, the volume of construction is at 127.3%. The volume of commissioned housing is 122.9% and the volume of investments channeled is 109.4%.
