Land of Ulytau takes special spiritual place in our history – Kazakh Majilis Speaker Koshanov

Majilis speaker Yerlan Koshanov and a group of deputies made a visit to Ulytau region, meeting the region’s residents, workers of industrial enterprises, familiarizing with the operation of Zhezkazgan CHP, descending into the shaft of the Annenskaya mine, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh parliament’s lower chamber. 

Revival of Ulytau region by the decision of the Head of State plays a special role not only for the locals but the entire nation. To this end, the President gave instructions to the region’s administration to build a number of social and cultural facilities and new residential buildings in the region. It’s an important task for all of us. The deputies are to control the work and assist in realizing all the projects planned, said the Majilis chairman, while meeting the region’s residents and members of the Council of Veterans, deputies of the regional maslikhat.

Koshanov stressed that today Ulytau region is a region with huge economic, social and cultural potential. The volume of investments attracted to the region stood at KZT171.2bn, rising by KZT45bn year-on-year. 67 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned since the region’s establishment.

He also pointed out that the first meeting of the Ulttyq Qurultay (National Meeting) took place in Ulytau in 2022 upon the President’s initiative.

Ulytau takes a special historic and spiritual place in our history. In his interview, Tokayev noted this year will mark 800 years of the Golden Horde. It’s a big event not only for the region itself but for studying the history of Kazakh statehood, said Koshanov.
