Largest Asian low-cost airline to launch flights from Kazakhstan
This year Kazakhstan gave flight permissions to six foreign airlines, Transport Minister Marat Karabayev said at the Government’s session Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to Minister Karabayev, this year saw Kazakhstan not only issue the said flight permissions, but also amend the open skies regime and remove restrictions on the fifth degree of freedom of the air.
“As a result, the largest Asian low-cost airline AirAsia will begin operating flights en route Almaty- Kuala Lumpur from March 14, 2024,” the minister noted.
He stressed that this will let step up competition in the market and increase accessibility of air tickets.
