Last year workplace fatalities reached 260

In 2013, as many as 260 workers died in industrial accidents in Kazakhstan. Statistics Agency informed that the workplace fatalities were mainly caused by non-compliance with the safety requirements, inefficiency and underfinancing of the existing health and safety programs. The most common occupational diseases were intervertebral discs involvement and professional bronchitis.

The greatest number of victims featured skilled workers in the age range of 46-60.
