Launch of the Chinese version of Kazinform News Agency is new landmark of information cooperation between China and Kazakhstan - China's Ambassador Le Yucheng
Our reporter asked Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan Mr. Le Yucheng to comment on this event. - Mr. Le Yucheng, Kazakhstan and China today have developed the high level of collaboration in political and economic spheres. How do you assess the prospects for further development of Kazakh-Chinese relations? - Within the 22 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations Kazakh-Chinese contacts have been steadily developing. The countries established comprehensive strategic partnership, and on that basis continue to deepen cooperation. Currently, both states are at a critical stage of rapid enhancement. Greater economic complementarity, great potential for cooperation in various fields and a strong desire for us to cooperate, open broad prospects for bilateral relations. Last year the President Xi Jinping spoke at Nazarbayev University on an initiative to jointly build "economic belt of the Great Silk Road". President Nursultan Nazarbayev's Strategy "Kazakhstan -2050" coincides with the initiative "economic belt of the Great Silk Road". At the moment, our main objective is to strengthen bilateral political agreement and unify efforts to implement long-term strategies of the two states. Looking to the future, we can confidently say that our cooperation possibilities are endless. We must continue to deepen collaboration in the development of transport and communication networks, to effectively implement major projects such as the construction of road transport transit corridor "Western China - Western Europe" and a terminal in the port of Lianyungang. We need to continuously strengthen cooperation in non-oil sector and find new sources of investment cooperation enhancement. - During the visit of the former President of China Hu Jintao to Kazakhstan in 2011 our President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that both sides should strive to strengthen its partnership including in humanitarian sphere. In 2012 an agreement was signed on cooperation in the field of electronic information between the Agency and the International center of the newspaper People's Daily. How do you think, how it may be useful in terms of such cooperation to further strengthen bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and China in all spheres? - The importance of information cooperation is obvious. Media is often called "fourth estate". In the era of globalization, information media's ability to disseminate information and speed of their response to the events has significantly increased. Cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in various areas is inseparable from understanding and support of our people. To do this, the media of the two countries should create conditions for the improvement of public opinion in favor of deepening the strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan. Kazinform, as the only state-run news agency of Kazakhstan was the first Kazakhstani media which established its correspondent bureau in China. The Agency has earlier established partnerships with China's biggest news agencies - Xinhua, People's Daily Online and Tianshannet. - Launched on the instruction of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Chinese version of the website is a unique project for the Agency that has recently attained its international status. What information, in your opinion is the most interesting for Chinese readers? - I heartily congratulate Kazinformn with launching of Chinese version of the website. We are confident the new version of the website will make a weighty contribution to further development of the political, economic, social and humanitarian ties between the two nations. This event may be called a new landmark of information cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. Chinese version of the website will introduce Chinese Internet users a distinctive Kazakh history, culture, local traditions and customs, success of development and business information. I think that Chinese Internet users are very interested in Kazakhstani news. - Thank you for the interview!
