Law on gambling industry passed in 2nd reading by Kazakh Senate

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Senate, the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, has reviewed in the second reading and adopted the Law "On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of gambling industry" at the plenary session today.

The draft law is called to improve the statutory regulations in the sphere of gambling industry and eliminating the existing gaps and conflicts. In line with the draft law, the online gambling and Internet casinos are now prohibited under the Civil Procedure Code.

The draft law also includes significant amendments and sets new requirements to minimum number of gambling tables, gaming machines at casinos, a set of restrictions for betting offices and more.
