LDP's support more than double DPJ's: Kyodo poll

TOKYO. November 19. KAZINFORM The main opposition Liberal Democratic Party has gained more than twice as much support as the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, a preelection Kyodo News survey showed Monday.

The nationwide telephone poll conducted Saturday and Sunday on about 1,754 voters, of whom 1,217 responded, showed that 23.0 percent of the respondents said they intend to vote for the LDP in the proportional representation section in the Dec. 16 House of Representatives election, while 10.8 percent said the DPJ, Kyodo reports.

A total of 43 percent said they have not yet decided on which party to vote for, according to the survey, the first of its kind conducted since Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda dissolved the lower house last Friday.
