CARACAS. March 5. KAZINFORM Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro on Friday said that Libya had authorized to create a peace international commission to mediate the conflict in that African country. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

A letter authorizing this commission was sent by Libyan Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa to the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry. Maduro read it during the extraordinary meeting of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Americas (ALBA).

In the letter Koussa said that his country supports the establishment of a commission formed by Latin American, Asian and African leaders, as it was proposed by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

"We give authorization to take all the necessary measures to choose the members of the commission and coordinate their participation in this dialogue," the letter said.

The crisis in Libya has aroused violent clashes between the security forces and anti-government forces, with an unfixed number of fatal victims. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
