Literary and art figures honored with state scholarships in Almaty

Almaty hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding state scholarships to literary and art figures in Almaty with the participation of Kazakh Culture and Information Minister Aida Balayeva, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the Culture and Information Ministry.

In total, 75 residents received state scholarships in literature and art under the Head of State’s instruction in 2024.

Congratulating the scholarship awardees, Balayeva highlighted their considerable contribution to the promotion of Kazakh culture. According to her, the creative intelligentsia plays a key role in preserving cultural identity, enhancing unity and promoting national values.

President Tokayev attaches special attention to fostering national spirit, highlighting its crucial role and potential in building modern statehood. His annual addresses, initiatives at the National Qurultay and interviews are full of key values such as independence and patriotism, unity and accord, justice and responsibility, law and order, creativeness and innovation. Enhancing inter-ethnic accord and instilling decent values in the upcoming generation is our common task, said Balayeva.

The Kazakh Culture and Information Minister stressed that all the initiatives of the President primarily aim at establishing national unity, strengthening the state and increasing the wellbeing of citizens.

Among the scholarship awardees are Assanali Ashimov, Bibigul Tulegenova, Olzhas Suleimenov, Iranbek Orazbayev, Nurgali Nusipzhan and other eminent figures of culture.

As reported, the Head of State had decreed to award culture scholarships in 2024.
