Lithuania hopes to save EUR 45 million/year thanks to Ukraine-EU Association
KYIV. November 7. KAZINFORM Lithuania expects saving up to EUR 45 million annually in trade with Ukraine following the beginning of using agreements on deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union. Lithuanian Foreign Ministry told Ukrinform's own correspondent about this.
"Taxes will not be imposed on Lithuanian exports to Ukraine, which will allow potentially saving EUR 42-45 million on duties," the Lithuanian MFA says.
Vilnius also accentuates the fact that by experts' calculations, after the Association Agreement between the EU and Kyiv comes into force, Ukraine's GDP will be 6% up in the medium-term perspective, and the purchasing power of consumers will rise by 11.8%.
"Ukrainian entrepreneurs will save about EUR 500 million only on customs duties every year," Lithuania sources say.
