Lithuania to use experience of Kazakhstan in settling protracted conflicts
OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis said it after the meeting with Secretary of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev in Astana.
According to him, Lithuania will use the experience of Kazakhstan and try to contribute as much as possible to settling this conflict.
Besides, the parties touched upon the Transdniestrian issue at this meeting. "I know about positive role my Kazakhstan's colleague played in settling this issue. A lot of work had been done in this direction before my trips to Moscow, Kiev and then to Moldova. I just wanted to understand how much those countries were interested in restarting the negotiations in the 5+2 format. We will, of course, see it the nearest future. Now we need definite measures and actions," he said.
According to him, mutual understanding is crucial in this issue.
