LIVE: State visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Akorda
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kazakhstan for a state visit, Kazinform News Agency reports.
On November 27-28, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be in Kazakhstan on a state visit and will also participate in the next session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) set to take place in Astana.
In the course of the state visit, the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is expected to hold top-level talks with the Russian counterpart. It is planned to discuss issues of further development of Russian-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in various avenues, including considering Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the CSTO this year, and Russia’s in the Commonwealth of Independent States and BRICS.
Following the negotiations, a Joint Statement of the Heads of State will be inked, as well as a number of intergovernmental, interdepartmental, and commercial documents.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will address the participants of the plenary session of the 20th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which will be held in Ufa, via videoconference.
At the CSTO CSC meeting, the results of this year’s cooperation within the organization will be summarized, and the main directions for further improvement of the collective security system will be identified.
The participants are to exchange views on current international and regional topics.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu noted that the visit is of paramount importance for deepening the multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
