Lucky Spaniard scoops 126 million-euro lottery jackpot
MOSCOW. May 10. KAZINFORM. A lucky ticket holder in Spain has won a 126 million-euro ($171.6 million) jackpot in the EuroMillions lottery, the British Sky News television reported on Saturday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The record prize, if the ticket was bought by a single person rather than a syndicate, would be the world's biggest lottery win, Sky News said. The winner has not yet come forward.
EuroMillions is a pan-European lottery, launched in 2004. Initially only the United Kingdom, France and Spain were involved, but lotteries from Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland joined the draw in October 2007.
Draws are held every Friday night, and take place in Paris. A standard EuroMillions ticket costs 2 euros per line played. All prizes, including the jackpot, are tax exempt, except in Switzerland, and are paid in a lump sum; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru for full version.
