Lukashenko, Makei discuss drafting of Eurasian Economic Union treaty
"The President wanted to know about the work carried out in pursuance of his earlier instructions, including in the field of Eurasian integration and the drafting of the Eurasian Economic Union treaty. Alexander Lukashenko asked to focus on problems in this field," the press service said.
"The process is a new one and it cannot be flawless. It is natural that there can be problems," the head of state noted, BelTA reports.
Vladimir Makei informed the President on the views of the sides regarding the preparation of the Eurasian Economic Union treaty. The head of state was also informed about Russia-Kazakhstan negotiations in view of Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO.
The President gave specific instructions to prepare guidelines on Belarus' stance on these matters which will be discussed during the forthcoming session of the Troika due in mid-March.
