Lukashenko's team wins 9th International Christmas Ice Hockey Tournament
MINSK. January 8. KAZINFORM The team led by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko won the 9th International Christmas Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament for the prize of the President of Belarus on January 7. They defeated the Russian Gazprom Export team 5-2 in the final match held at the Minsk-Arena.

The Canadians who beat the Austrian team were third.
Amateur ice hockey teams from eight countries, including Russia, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, Switzerland and Belarus, fought for the tournament's main trophy this year.
The team of the President of Belarus won the Christmas tournament in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. It suffered two setbacks in the final from the Russian team - one in 2007 and the other in 2011.
Experts note that the International Christmas Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament is getting more popular and better organized from year to year. It attracts skillful teams and players.
