Magnitude-5.0 quake hits S. Philippines
DAVAO CITY. October 23. KAZINFORM A 5.0-magnitude quake shook parts of southern Philippines early Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
No damage was reported following the 2:23 a.m. local time temblor traced some 85 km south-southeast of Hinatuan town, in Mindanao's Surigao del Sur province.
The quake which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 141.9 km, and was also felt in the southeastern city of Davao, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
