Main cause of corruption in subsoil management is unreasonable complexity of receiving and contract processing procedures
That has been discussed at the meeting of the Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the fight against corruption, which was held today under the chairmanship of the Secretary of State of Kazakhstan Marat Tajin, the press service of Akorda reports.
The Secretary of State said that the fight against corruption was the critical strategic priority for public policy. The President in the Address to the Nation "Kazakhstan-2050 " Strategy: new policy of the established state" highlighted the need to strengthen the control and eradication of this phenomenon.
The Commission also addressed a number of issues related to subsoil use, since the major part of the national budget revenue generated by tax revenues is in this area. The main cause of corruption factors, as noted by the speakers, is the excessive complexity of the procedures for receiving and processing contracts. It is necessary to tighten accounting and control over the production and export of crude oil in order to prevent evasion of taxes and duties.
The speakers of the meeting were the Deputy Prime-Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev, Ministers of Health Salidat Kairbekova, Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev, the chairman of the Agency for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption Rashid Tusupbekov, and the General Prosecutor of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev.
The Commission made specific recommendations and instructions to the government bodies.
