Majilis approved in first reading amendments to law on domestic content
ASTANA. November 11. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Draft Law "On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on domestic content" has been approved in the first reading at the Majilis's plenary session today.
The bill was presented by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yerkhat Yeskaliyev. According to him, the document aims at determining powers of state bodies regarding domestic content in purchase of goods, works and services by state bodies and organizations.
"The Government has done huge work both with buyers and producers as well as within the Council of Foreign investors on placing certain orders at the Kazakh enterprises. Also, there was developed a Concept of development of the Kazakhstan content in order to ensure solution of the problem. The Concept provides for maximum usage of the local market's potential to provide competitive, export-oriented domestic products", the Vice Minister said.
