Majilis Deputy explained Law on local self-government: Kyzylorda

KYZYLORDA. February 18. KAZINFORM /Aidan Baimen/ Deputy of the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) Murat Abenov met with deputies of the maslikhat of Kyzylorda and heads of rural districts, Kazinform reports.

New Law, regulating the activity of local public authorities, signed by the Head of the State on February 9, 2009 was discussed at the meeting. The Law provides with the election of members of the local public authorities by free, secret ballot, direct and universal suffrage. ?The foundation for approach of the systems of local public authorities and self-government were laid?, M.Abenov noted.
