ASTANA. May 2. KAZINFORM Majilis has endorsed in the second reading the bill "On introduction of amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the state monopoly" at the plenary session chaired by Kazakh Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin.

The bill minimizes the government intervention in economy and introduction of the state monopoly only in exceptional cases when government's participation is needed to provide national security, public order and nation's health protection.

The amendments provide the reduction of areas covered by the state monopoly and exclusive rights, which cannot be referred to the state monopoly, and consolidating at the legislative level the possibility of providing services in a competitive market, or attributing them to the functions implemented by government agencies.
